The third annual Strictly Business Networking Luncheon will take place on
Monday, November 1, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. With more than
370 guests attending last year’s event, we look forward to another year of bringing
together representatives from Chicago’s local business community, sponsors,
current funders and partners to network and support the JVS mission.
Our Honoree for the 2010 luncheon is SPR Companies,
its President and CEO Robert Figliulo. Through SPR’s
nAblement division, the company is dedicated to employing
persons with disabilities in the technology world. Mr. Figliulo’s
own personal experiences as a father of a daughter with
disabilities led him to this commitment. SPR has turned this
to its competitive advantage by demonstrating social responsibility in action. As
an SPR partner, JVS identified clients to fill opportunities at SPR. The head of
nAblement division, Pat Maher, has been an active member of JVS’ Business
Advisory Committee and JVS Board member John Daniels is a member
of the SPR team. JVS is proud to acknowledge SPR and their achievements.
We welcome Dr. Philip Kotler as our Keynote Speaker.
Kotler is the S. C. Johnson Distinguished Professor of International
Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern
University, and has been honored as one of the world’s leading
marketing thinkers. He received his M.A. degree in economics
(1953)from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. degree in economics (1956) from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), and has received honorary degrees from twelve universities in the United States and abroad.
Kotler is the author of forty-seven books, including Standing Room Only: Strategies for Marketing the Performing Arts, Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism, Strategic Marketing for Nonprofit Organizations, Marketing Management, Social Marketing, Marketing Places, The Marketing of Nations, andMarketing Management. He has been a consultant to major companies and nonprofit organizations and is considered the father of modern marketing and social marketing.
The combination of SPR and Dr. Kotler is a chance for JVS to honor those who have made a commitment to working with people with
disabilities by demonstrating the differences it can bring to the business community, and the success of this luncheon will not only enable JVS
Chicago to support new and existing programs, but will allow the agency to form new, collaborative relationships with local businesses to meet their employment needs. In addition, as a networking event, Strictly Business will bring together business leaders with a common interest in assisting unemployed, underemployed and disabled workers. JVS looks forward to using the successes of this event to encourage productive partnerships between and among these leaders to benefit the community especially in these uncertain economic times.
